For each person, we include a link to a webpage that most accurately summarizes each person's oevre, importance and impact on currents flowing toward a Fair Planet. Perhaps some the names will be familiar, others may come as a surprise.
In a world of increasing inequality, the legitimacy of institutions that give precedence to the property rights of "the Haves" over the human rights of "the Have Nots" is inevitably called into serious question.

More humane societies are usually smaller, like the Scandinavian countries and Holland, where it is much easier to reach consensus and cooperation.

A World is not an ideology nor a scientific institution, nor is it even a system of ideologies; rather, it is a structure of unconscious relations and symbiotic processes.

Unconscious Polities emerge independent of conscious purpose.

If you do not create your destiny, you will have your fate inflicted upon you.

The first act of awe, when man was struck with the beauty or wonder of Nature, was the first spiritual experience.

Hope is a mode of our very being. To be alive is to live in a state of hope. Hope is a precondition of our mental health. Hope is the scaffolding of our existence. Hope is a reassertion of our belief in the meaning of human life and in the sense of the universe.

Ivan Illich
Healthy people are those who live in healthy homes on a healthy diet; in an environment equally fit for birth, growth work, healing, and dying... Healthy people need no bureaucratic interference to mate, give birth, share the human condition and die.

The compulsion to do good is an innate American trait. Only North Americans seem to believe that they always should, may, and actually can choose somebody with whom to share their blessings. Ultimately this attitude leads to bombing people into the acceptance of gifts.

A small-state world would not only solve the problems of social brutality and war; it would solve the problems of oppression and tyranny. It would solve all problems arising from power.

Compared with the barbaric exploits of the civilized, the savageries of the barbarians seem to lose all significance.

An anarchist society, far from being a remote ideal, has become a precondition for the practice of ecological principles.

The assumption that what currently exists must necessarily exist is the acid that corrodes all visionary thinking.

For most of recorded history, parental violence against children and men's violence against wives was explicitly or implicitly condoned. Those who had the power to prevent and/or punish this violence through religion, law, or custom, openly or tacitly approved it. ….. The reason violence against women and children is finally out in the open is that activists have brought it to global attention.

Any human anywhere will blossom in a hundred unexpected talents and capacities simply by being given the opportunity to do so.

All political movements are like this -- we are in the right, everyone else is in the wrong. The people on our own side who disagree with us are heretics, and they start becoming enemies. With it comes an absolute conviction of your own moral superiority. There's oversimplification in everything, and a terror of flexibility.

Love alone can unite living beings so as to complete and fulfill them... for it alone joins them by what is deepest in themselves. All we need is to imagine our ability to love developing until it embraces the totality of men and the earth.

We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.

Interesting phenomena occur when two or more rhythmic patterns are combined, and these phenomena illustrate very aptly the enrichment of information that occurs when one description is combined with another.

Logic can often be reversed, but the effect does not precede the cause.

The subtle energies and information that underlie this universe were there before its particles of matter appeared and will be there after these particles disappear.

We are beginning to see the entire universe as a holographically interlinked network of energy and information, organically whole and self referential at all scales of its existence. We, and all things in the universe, are non-locally connected with each other and with all other things in ways that are unfettered by the hitherto known limitations of space and time.

Infinite growth of material consumption in a finite world is an impossibility.

The system of nature, of which man is a part, tends to be self-balancing, self-adjusting, self-cleansing. Not so with technology.

We are now far too clever to be able to survive without wisdom.

Fritjof Capra
The phenomenon of emergence takes place at critical points of instability that arise from fluctuations in the environment, amplified by feedback loops.

The fact that modern physics, the manifestation of an extreme specialisation of the rational mind, is now making contact with mysticism, the essence of religion and manifestation of an extreme specialisation of the intuitive mind, shows very beautifully the unity and complementary nature of the rational and intuitive modes of consciousness; of the yang and the yin.

William Temple Sr., Archbishop of Canterbury
Humility does not mean thinking less of yourself than of other people, nor does it mean having a low opinion of your own gifts. It means freedom from thinking about yourself one way or the other at all.
